I have many issues with the Post Office. I think I've blogged about them quite a bit this fall, and how in general they annoy me and do things badly. This week I discovered two new issues.
1) I had to send cheques to my condo building so I sent them by Expresspost - clearly listing the condo association in the "TO" area, and me in the "FROM" area....but when it go to Kingston they saw my name, slapped a redirect mail label on it, and shipped it to Michael's house in Toronto. GAH! I'm the sender damn-it! So then Michael had to take it back to the post office and complain and they said it's my fault because I shouldn't have put my address in the sender area. Figure that one out?!
2) The doors on the post office here say "PULL".....but you push. Are you kidding me? Is this some kind of cruel trick to weed out the newbies from the locals? I'm pretty sure people snicker every time I try to pull the door. And I try my hardest to get it straight, I think about it as I drive up there, but when your brain sees a sign that says pull - it pulls! It's just reflex! Blah....in fact now that I'm writing this I think I had this same problem the last time I worked here, and clearly haven't sorted it out yet :P
Lots of love

p.s. I've run out of things to keep me occupied....I have sent christmas cards, done TONS of baking, all my shopping is done and wrapped. I'm bored. I've been to Canadian Tire several times and I'm all browsed out. What should I do to keep busy?
WOW! Wish I was that organized.
ReplyDeleteWhen in doubt about what to do, Quilt!!

I would love to - but I have no sewing machine here, and definitely no fabric store :( I should start including that in my locum contract - please provide one sewing machine. hahaha.
ReplyDeletewould love to see a picture of you pushing on the pull to open the door ;-)
ReplyDeletehow about knitting to keep yourself occupied? or hand quilting if you can get your hands on any fabric?
ReplyDeleteKnit! Or mail more cookies, the batch we got today is delicious...and disappearing quickly. :)
ReplyDeleteI can mail knitting supplies if necessary.
