Thank you Bob for suggesting that we should each blog at least one day a week, and for arbitrarily choosing Tuesday.....which makes me one day behind from the beginning. Ha! Oh well. Off we go...
This week I am back in Canada to babysit my most favouritest little cousins. Sadly I won't be able to call them little for much longer. They are growing like weeds when I'm not around. Someone should put a stop to that.
Their parents are off to Vegas, and I always try to make time without parents something special.....so we had a dance party when they left and discussed eating a lot of chocolate bars. We haven't done that part yet, just discussed it. We also brainstormed good activities for parent-free-week and are thinking about going to the movies, out for dinner, going shopping, and eating more chocolate. Oh yeah and we always do something silly like eating grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast. That's the best part about not being someone's parent - you can do marginally bizarre things just for fun, cause you aren't the responsible one! It's great.
Sadly since they are growing up so fast, I fear that I may not last too much longer as cool cousin Pam. My coolness seems to diminish as they age. I asked Meara last night if she would prefer to be woken up this morning by jumping on her with a bucket of cold water, or blaring Lady GaGa music from the kitchen (which I thought was hilarious). I got a half giggle, and a sideways glance. Essentially if she wore glasses - she would have just looked over her glasses at me. Sigh. How to keep up with tweens?!?!! lol. More chocolate I suppose. hahaha
Uhoh - the monsters are home! Today's disaster - Kyla's thermos broke at some point this morning so she thought it wasn't ok to eat the food in it and came home bawling and hungry. Poor thing. Fishes and cheese slices seem to be helping while supper is in the oven.
Off I go to play mom/bad-influence!
