In general, I try to remain a level-headed person. I'm not always calm. I admit to some melo-dramatic ranting. But it tends to last about ten seconds. And usually I am actually incapable to staying mad. My friends have discovered I have a selective memory where I completely forget bad things that have happened. I think its a gift. They think I should keep a list of the people I shouldn't talk to anymore. HA!
Anyway...back to the issue at hand....there are only a few things that boil my blood and get me riled up for an extended period of time - and lack of respect is top of that list. So please permit me the following rant....
I had some unfortunate car trouble this weekend. When I got off the highway I realized my car was still as loud as if we were driving 120km/hr....I mean....the speed limit. It sounded like it was coming from the right front tire, so I took it to the garage. They were nice enough to take it for a quick drive and confirm I had a bearing problem, and then called all over to get me an appointment to have it fixed under warranty. Great people! I was very happy, went on with my weekend, and when it was ready my brother took me back to pick it up.
Now here is where things went horribly wrong. I walked up to the counter, gave them my name, and said I was picking up my car. My brother stood back about 5 feet to wait. BUT the man at the counter proceeded to talk over my shoulder, to my brother, explaining what they had fixed. Even when Michael started backing away to try and stop him from doing this, the guy just kept talking at him. I was appalled! I couldn't even manage to say anything about how ridiculous this was. I mean honestly - the car was there in MY name, I stepped up to pick it up, TALK TO ME!!!
Call me crazy, but I don't feel that I should have to explain to salesmen that yes I do know how a car works, or that yes I do own a power drill and am capable of installing this wall mounted microwave on my own. Seriously.
*grump*
Besides that I had a perfectly lovely weekend with my family :)
Lots of love
