My drive home...

Getting home from work is usually pretty simple for me. It goes something like this:
I realize that doesn't look like the most direct route, because it's not! But this way I take the highway instead of going straight through downtown and a million traffic lights.

Last night, however, it snowed while I was at work. And we all know that drivers lose their minds, and whatever small abilities they had to drive their cars, during the first big snowfall of the year. So when I left work it went something like this:
And then I was passed by an ambulance, and a firetruck, and it became quite apparent that traffic was no longer moving AT ALL and I was never going to get on the highway. So I turned around, and it went something like this:

At which point I came upon 4 cop cars, 2 tow trucks, and some more fire trucks and ambulances. Now I was forced to turn off this road and somehow ended up driving off into the boonies between some farmer's fields. And that went something like this:
So for the astute readers you can now see that after about 45 minutes worth of driving - I was now staring at the place I work. Again. Feeling a little bit stuck for options, I decided to take the direct, but traffic light infested, route home. Sadly everyone was driving 20kms per hour....and so it took me another 45 minutes to do this:

One and a half hours after leaving work (and leaving work late I might add), two full cds, three frantic calls to Somaiah to figure out where the heck I was, and a whole lotta laughs later - I made it home safe and sound.

And then I went and played in the snow :)

Lots of love
