I thought it might be fun to describe how my life has gone so far in terms of important numbers….so here goes:
1 - wilderness adventure races in which I have competed
2 - cars I have owned
3 – times I have attempted to snowboard
4 - fancy letters I can put behind my name (but this spring I will get to add two more!)
5 - km's I pretend I can run every year for the Run for the Cure
6 - strings on the guitar I still do not know how to play
7 - siblings (including steps and in-laws!)
8 - houses I've lived in (not counting traveling for med school)
9 - years I took skating lessons
10 – plants I have killed due to lack of gardening skills
11 - cities I have worked in
12 – times I have partied in
13 - months of clerkship I have survived
14 – textbooks I intend to finish reading someday
15 – pounds gained in first year university
16 – minutes it takes me to walk to class from my apartment
17 – stitches it takes me to sew up a banana
18 – skeletons in my closet
19 – letters in my full name
20 - cookbooks I own
21 - km's skied in one day just to prove everyone wrong
22 - years I have been in school
23 – freckles on my face
24 – puddles I have jumped in over the last year
25 - age when I will graduate as an M.D.!
But of course there are also a lot of things that I would never ever be able to quantify:
- People who have been kind enough to influence my life
- Happy memories
- Boys I have kissed…..hahahah Just kidding! I wanted to see if I could add to another one of my favourite accomplishments – the number of grey hairs I have given my mom!
- And most importantly - times I have laughed until it hurt
And the best part of all is that my life is not a quarter over, its only a quarter started.
Lots of love
Pamela

Hooray! Happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteI just finished that book and loved it -- kept thinking, "must tell Pamela about this book." What did you think?
