Today's Obituaries

I regret to inform you of the loss of an important member of the digestive team - Rex the Appendix. He served absolutely no purpose for 27 years, but he was loved none the less. I was quite attached to him. He will be sorely missed by the cecum and the right ovary, his neighbours. The abdominal wall will be forever scarred by his loss. Rex is survived by the gallbladder and the tonsils, his club members in the League of Superfluous Organs.

Rex was removed emergently at Bangkok Hospital in Hat Yai on Friday morning. He suffered only a brief illness, from about 6pm the night before. He was in tremendous pain, and so it was with great relief that he was removed. In fact, had he stayed in any longer, he likely would have burst because he was HUGE and disgusting when he came out.

His host family (ie. Pamela) was very comfortable under spinal anesthetic and is being well looked after in Hospital. Today she will increase from rice broth to boiled rice with meat and continue antibiotics. If all goes well, Pamela will go home to Songkhla tomorrow. Raymond is enjoying his time in HatYai and brings back treats from the mall next door. Raymond would particularly like to think the wonderful nurses who give Pamela sponge baths twice a day.

hahahaaha
Lots of Love
Pamela

    your trips sure include adventures.

glad that they took such good care of you and that you are on the mend. I'm sure that nurse Ray will be a helping hand when you get home, good thing that he was back from the rigs and could make arrangements for you.
