~ a blog title chosen by Jillybean ~
A very apt title for this week! I am currently enjoying a leisurely Sunday morning laptop party in bed but cannot see out the window because of the snow. Not that it's snowing so hard I can't see - just that it has blown in between the screen and window and piled up to a level that now blocks my view out of the house. Oh well, at least its bright and beautiful.
I have had a lovely week of vacation, and playing in the snow. My partner in crime came to visit, and since he rarely gets to see snow it all seemed new and exciting again. A trip to Canadian Tire for boots, and some handknit mitts and hat from me and he was all set. He then proceeded to spend the week mumbling - stomp, stomp, stomp - as he plowed through the snow.
Sometimes I wonder why people ever settled in Canada. How did they survive in teepees, and building their own homes? Without double pane windows and cars with seat warmers and thinsulate! But I think as Canadians we learn to make the best of any weather situation and go with the flow. You have to choose to enjoy it, choose to laugh and choose to make a funny story of how your plans were changed by the whims of the snow clouds and the gods of winter driving. Now don't get me wrong - there were times in the not-so-distant past that I could not have made that decision even if I wanted to. But I am thankful at the Holidays this year to be able to choose to laugh and play and enjoy whatever life throws at me.
Lots of Love
