I have found a new calling in life....
Pientology - the scientific study and creation of pies. (as coined by my most favourite middle little adopted brother - Hi Bob!)
I don't have much talent, but I've got passion out the wazoo. In fact, it might be more than passion, I might be down right crazy. Something in my head snaps when there is leftover pie crust and my 5 year old self starts yelling - pie dough! pie dough! let's fill it with everything we like! IT'LL BE GREAT!!! But it's never great. You shouldn't put peanut butter in a pie. You have to sweeten cream cheese, not just spread it on the bottom. And granola bars are not a prime ingredient.
What possesses a grown woman to start designing new pies out of leftover junk in the fridge just to save a bit of dough from being thrown out? Its not rational. And now here I am, in fat pants on my couch, eating my newest debacle - cheesecake layered with cranberry sauce and coconut meringue topped wonder pie. It's not horrible, its actually better than the so-called million dollar pie which turned out to be a disaster. But I really do wonder.....what is this primal urge to use all the pie dough!?!?!
