A day of surprises

Surprise #1 (well maybe not surprise so much as happy occurrence) - I got in to Queen's Family Med for next year! WOOHOO!!! It was my first choice. There was lots of yelling and screaming and dancing between Liza and I when the screen lit up at noon that I was going to Kingston.

Surprise #2 - almost all my friends got their first choice of location, and all of them got their first choice of specialty! Yay us!

Surprise #3 - ...did I ever tell you about the time the mouse ran across my livingroom? It was last fall, and I was really tired from whatever it was I was doing, and I screamed and stood on the coffee table until my brother came over with mouse traps and hot chocolate to settle me down. (Incidentally, I have the best brothers in the world....yesterday one of them taped cookies to my door before I woke up in the morning to help me celebrate match day!). Anyway, last night I came home around 1am from a lovely Match Day evening in Hess Village and as I flipped the light on in my room....a mouse ran across my BED. And not just my bed - MY PILLOW.

EEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I cannot even express how disgusting this is. I'm going to have to take everything out of that room and wash it. *shudder*

BUT. The funny thing is....I just walked away. I closed the door, and went to sleep on the couch. Now this may have had something to do with the level of tiredness and the number of beverages I had.....but more likely I have reached a new state of Zen calm after finding out the course of the next 2 years.

I like it.

Lots of love
Pamela

p.s. Does anyone have rodent catching skills? This little bugger seems to be smarter than mouse traps.

Countdown to match day - NONE. The fat lady has sang.

First of all, congratulations that's awesome news!

Second, as to the mouse problem.
I think your Uncle Bob would have said, "get a cat". Its either that or borrow a friend's cat for a few days ... the mouse will be gone one way or the other. Mother Nature's mouse traps are the best. ;)

    Again, congrats!
