A new level of hell

In late breaking news - a new level has been added to Hell this week in order to accomodate the growing population there. This new area is affectionately termed "the operating room" and all occupants are forced to work in anesthesia....oh wait....that's my real life :P

Gone are the days when I would wax nostalgic about all the wonderful exciting things I was doing at school and how much I loved being the hospital. Anesthesia itself is cool - I mean you get to play with the big drugs, put people to sleep, attach all kinds of leads and wires, watch monitors and then wake them up. But good lord, the 2 hours while they are sleeping when nothing happens and you have to stand there is enough to bore anyone to death! And my feet....I think they may never forgive me for the beating they are taking this week. I have potentially never been as tired and grumpy as I am right now. Ok maybe when I was writing my thesis. And also that time I skied a stupid number of kms just to prove you all wrong...but besides that this is a new all time low!

On the upside - I can cross one more thing off the list of maybe's! If you are keeping track the new ranking for what to do with my life is:
1. Rural Family Medicine
2. Internal Medicine
3. Chef (forget this medicine business...I could just cook and eat all day!)
Hell No: Geriatrics, Anesthesia, Psychiatry

I need a nap.

Love
Pamela

Currently reading: The Little Prince (I only have enough brain power for children's novels)
Currently listening to: the sweet absence of any beeping monitors

So I take it, putting old people to sleep in the psychiatry ward is not so probable for you now? :P

    sorry, could not resist.

I don't know if I'd like my doctor, who is controling my life, to say that they're worried about being bored to death. But maybe I'm the only one who feels that way.

    Try to get some sleep!
