Swish swish... pant pant... swish swish

So that pretty much describes how my day has gone! It's like my own version of the Olympics today. I had a blast participating in the cross country skiing distance challenge...but I think I am going to throw in the towel for today or I may never recover from the full body cramping that is going on right now.

So who won the bet??

Raymond, Mandy & Allen - Coming from people who are my best friends...you guys disappoint me. Your guesses were so far off. From now on I will refer to you three as "Ye of little faith" :P

Mark - What makes your guess stand out is that you followed it up with a personal email begging, if not bribing, me to stop at 15km so that you would win and get some of my cookies. Tricky little devil! I might have to send you some cookies just for the effort you put in.

Somaiah - Closest guess!! Thanks for the support girl. You will be getting something fun in the mail as soon as I get settled in Thunder Bay!

Can you take the suspense?!?! How far did I actually go?!?!............21km

If you were an astute guesser, and you knew me very well, then you would have known that you should guess exactly one km higher than the highest guess (yes, just like The Price Is Right). I am just stubborn enough to push through the pain and go far enough to prove you all wrong! HA. It took me about 3 hours in total (plus a stop in the middle for some lunch and to study for a while in the chalet). Mildly depressing to realize that Carolyn can run 21km faster than I can ski it...oh well! I tripled my personal best today, and that is definitely good enough for me.

After all that skiing I was left dead tired and disgustingly sweaty. So I did what any self respecting Canadian would do after over exertion - I had a beer and a poutine :)

Back to watching the Olympics...I'll let the real athletes show me how it's done.

Lots of love
Pamela

so did I win even if I guessed 20 in an MSN and out of the blog chat??

good show kid. knew you could better your 7 K. it all has to do with perserverance and rythm. don't push yourself (you'll wind yourself anyway) just keep slogging. suppose it's often just like life isn't it. sprints are good but paced slogging (like the turtle) often pays off in the long run.
