We all have landmarks for the season.s Little mental cues that remind us the times are changing and the year is moving along. For me, the most important event on a warm day of spring is cleaning my car. I know...it sounds lame. My brother mocks me all the time. But I LOVE cleaning my car. I'm talking full out vacuum, clean carpets, scotch guard, armourall, the whole shebang. And today was that day!
The other exciting thing about spring moving along is that I only have 4 weeks left in Obstetrics!! I realize obstetrics is supposed to be this beautiful, magical place where everyone is overjoyed to bring new life into the world. Well yes, new life is cool, and holding a baby while it takes its first breath is magical. BUT.....the pushing, and the blood, and the goo, and the things I'm not even going to go into here....make it less than wonderful from my end of the bed. It is mildly traumatic in fact. I hope I can forget the horror of labour the way that new moms can forget the pain so someday I will be able to have children of my own. But not someday soon.
Oh well. This too shall pass.
